One afternoon, our phone rang, and on the other end was Mrs. Sakuntala (middle of the night, her time)—speaking in the most modest and sweet voice you can imagine—asking if we could be part of her daughter’s wedding. A few calls later, we were on first-name terms, calling her "Aunty," and diving into the details of our travel plans. Aunty was juggling it all, and then some!

When we arrived, we stepped into a home buzzing with close family and friends. The energy was infectious—everyone was relaxed, catching up, and lending a hand to prep the house for the big day. The place was being transformed for the bride-making and mehendi event the next day, with Aunty leading an army of helpers who had everything under control. We instantly felt at home with these warm, fun, and incredibly kind people.

Sneha and Vijay, who both grew up in the U.S., have a love story that’s anything but cliché (you’ll hear all about it in the film). Our mission was to keep things real and personal, just the way we love to capture it—and just the way this family wanted it. During our time with them, we discovered a little piece of India, wrapped in warmth and love.
